About Us
Your Child Is In Great Hands

Our Philosophy
Venice Nokomis Community Preschool was established in 1983 to give families in the community an opportunity to place their children in a loving, safe, Christian and quality preschool program.
We want children to learn, play and grow in the best possible environment. The children are introduced to a variety of quality experiences to enrich their development in the areas of social skills, emotions, intellect, creativity, independence and spirituality. We want to create an attitude that learning is fun!
We have an excellent staff of highly trained professionals. We provide support for parents, encourage family involvement and recommend regular parent / teacher conferences. We keep a low student / teacher ratio because we know it is best for the children to be able to get more individualized attention. We want you and your children to feel “at home” with our surroundings and the program we offer.

Message from Our Director
As the preschool's founding director of 38 years, I can assure you that our students excel in social/emotional, academic, physical and spiritual skills due to our highly qualified staff of teachers and the warm and caring environment that is offered at Venice Nokomis Community Preschool.
I have been teaching preschool since 1974 when my son was just 3 years old. I have had the opportunity to be involved with all ages of preschoolers, including those with special needs, and each day I thank God that I have the opportunity to touch a child's life.
In January 2017, we made a decision to become a new entity and Johnson Chapel Baptist Church opened its arms to us and supported our goal of growing. Pastor Willie Beckom and his congregation continue to help us meet the needs of the community, while we help to support the needs of the church and preschool facility.
Being part of the community is important to us and we feel it is very important to teach children about giving back. We take the children to ring bells for Salvation Army, collect clothing for the TWIG foster-child boutique and donate pajamas for the Scholastic Books PJ Drive. Monthly nursing home visits form special bonds between the students and adults.
There is so much more. Please join us!
